Location of the Operating System Error Log

The following table shows the location of the error log for your operating system, and the system command, if any, that you can use to examine the log.

NoteFor other platforms, consult your operating system documentation to find the location of the log file. Note that not all hardware-related problems will result in an error being written to one of the errorlog locations listed below. Check your diagnostic toolkit for additional utilities.
