How to Determine Your Adaptive Server Version

The dataserver, diagserver, backupserver, isql, bcp, buildmaster (12.0.x and earlier), defncopy, and langinstall binaries return version information when executed with a -v or /version flag.

Notediagserver is a diagnostic version of dataserver. Sybase Technical Support may ask you to run diagserver to help in problem solving.

The following examples are from UNIX:

% /usr/sybase/ASE-12_5/bin/dataserver -v

Adaptive Server Enterprise/12.5.0.1/SWR 9981 IR/P/Sun_svr4/OS
5.8/rel12501/1776/32-bit/FBO/Mon Feb 25 23:35:46 2002

% /usr/sybase/prod/rel125/ASE-12_5/bin/dataserver -v
